Missouri Preview

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The seventh ranked Gamecocks play Missouri this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium. Here are the numbers on the Tigers. Passing Starting quarterback James Franklin says he expects to play this weekend after sitting out last weekend against Arizona State. Franklin has thrown for 400 yards and 3 touchdowns in two games (Southeastern Louisiana and Georgia) on 38 of 62 passing attempts. The junior threw for 269 yards on 25 of 41 attempts with two touchdowns and an interception in the Tigers 41-20 loss to Georgia. Corbin Berkstresser filled in nicely for Franklin last weekend in the team’s 24-20 win over Arizona State, throwing for 198 yards on 21 of 41 passing attempts. Berkstresser did throw one interception in that game without throwing for a touchdown. The freshman’s only TD of the season came in late minutes of Missouri’s 62-10 blowout win against Southeaster Louisiana. Rushing The Tigers’ leading rusher is Kendial Lawrence, who has four touchdowns and 224 yards on 34 attempts on the season. Lawrence’s four touchdowns have come in the team’s two wins. In the Tigers’ loss to Georgia the senior running back was held to 41 yards on 8 carries with no scores. Defense Missouri has 9 sacks and 4 interceptions on the season. Brad Madison is the teams leader in sacks at 3. The Tigers’ are ranked 66th in points against allowing 23.7 points per game. Comparing this to the Gamecocks; who have 12 sacks and 5 interceptions through three games. Sophomore Jadeveon Clowney is USC’s leader in sacks at 3 as well. The Gamecocks are ranked 7th in the nation in points against allowing 9.7 points per game.
