Greer woman gets 50 years in day care abuse case

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A Greer woman has been sent to 50 years in prison after being convicted of child abuse at a daycare center.

Ronasha Taylor was convicted Wednesday of six counts of committing or attempting to commit lewd acts on children under the age of 16. The same Spartanburg County jury found Taylor not guilty of two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a child under age 11.

Taylor was accused of abusing children at the Kids R Kids daycare center in Greer in 2010. The children said the abuse took place in the bathroom. Children said they touched Taylor and she touched them.

Taylor did not speak to Circuit Judge Lee Alford before she was sentenced. One father said Taylor had betrayed the trust of the parents and children.
