SCSU Prepares For Texas A&M

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO) — For the first time in school history, the South Carolina State Bulldogs will head to College Station, Texas to take on the Texas A&M Aggies Saturday. Buddy Pough’s squad will face a FBS program for the 2nd straight week. SCSU is finishing up a brutal stretch of games to start off their 2012 campaign. The Bulldogs won their season opener against Georgia State 33-6. Then they dropped their last two against MEAC rival Bethune Cookman and FBS opponent Arizona. SCSU was outscored 83-14 in those two games. Pough knows College Station’s tradition of the “12th Man,” and has been trying to prepare his players for one of the loudest environments in all of college football. “We mostly use ear plugs,” said Pough. “We put the little orange ear things in all of our guys’ ears so they can’t hear that way. Can’t hearing is the same as can’t hearing regardless whether it’s from too much noise or too little.” After this trip to College Station, Pough will have to get his guys ready for MEAC play. They will face defending conference champion Norfolk State right off the bat on Sept. 29. SC State and Texas A&M are set to kick off at 7:00pm Saturday night.
