Changes to Medicare Coming Monday

(WOLO) WASHINGTON, D.C., — Beginning Monday, Medicare says it is planning to enforce stricter rules regarding how many times patients return to the hospital after they’ve been treated. According to officials, the health system plans to impose penalties upwards of 125 thousand dollars on hospitals who have patients that return within 30 days of being treated and discharged for an ailment. Hospitals say they plan to work closer with doctors and increase communication with rehabilitation centers to cut down on the amount of return patients.
