GM issues recall for 40,000 cars and SUVs

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — General Motors has issued a recall for 40,000 cars and SUVs. The recall affects the 2007 through 2009 models of the Chevrolet Cobalt, the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, 2007 through 2009 models of the Pontiac G5, the 2007 Pontiac Torrent, and the 2007 Saturn Ion. GM says a faulty fuel pump in those vehicles could crack and cause a potentially dangerous fuel leak. Owners can get a free replacement by contacting a GM dealer.
