Looking Ahead To Georgia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The 6th ranked Gamecocks will host the 5th ranked Georgia Bulldogs at Williams-Brice Stadium this Saturday, October 6th at 7 p.m. on ESPN. ESPN’s College GameDay will be in Columbia for the game. Here is a quick look at the week ahead and the match-up. South Carolina The Gamecocks are coming off a 38-17 win over the Kentucky Wildcats, giving them record of 5-0 (3-0 in the SEC). Connor Shaw threw for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 of 18 passing attempts. Marcus Lattimore is coming off his 10th career 100-yard rushing game with 120 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries. USC currently ranks 60th in Passing Yards and 57th in Rushing Yards at 237.2 and 171.8 yards per game respectively; while ranking 34th in Points For at 36.6 points per game according to ESPN. Which also has the defense ranked at 6th nationally for Points Against at 11.2 points a game. Head Football Coach Steve Spurrier is expected to meet with the media at his weekly press conference on Tuesday. Georgia The Bulldogs are 51-44 shootout win again Tennessee, which gives them a 5-0 record (3-0 SEC) coming into Columbia. Georgia’s other two Southeastern Conference wins come against Missouri and Vanderbilt (two teams that USC has beat this season as well). Last weekend against Tennessee, the Bulldogs’ junior quarterback Aaron Murray was 19 of 25 for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns. Georgia also added another 5 touchdowns on the ground – three by freshman running back Todd Gurley and two by fellow freshman back Keith Marshall. Gurley had 130 yards on 24 carries and Marshall added 164 yards on 10 carries. The Bulldogs currently rank 29th in Passing Yards and 11th in Rushing Yards at 285.6 and 250.4 yards per game respectively; while ranking 8th in Points For at 48.2 points per game according to ESPN. Which also has the defense ranked at 47th nationally for Points Against at 22.0 points a game.
