Thornwell Commits To Gamecock Hoops

(WOLO) — Frank Martin hopes years from now Gamecock fans will remember Monday night as the beginning of something special. Via Twitter Monday night, Lancaster native Sindarius Thornwell announced his verbal commitment to play his college basketball at USC. Thornwell, a 6’5 shooting guard, is one of the most highly recruited basketball players to commit to the Gamecocks in years. He is considered one of the top players in the country, averaging 28 points per game last season at Lancaster High School as a junior. Thornwell will play his senior season at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, a prep school that is perennially considered one of the best high school basketball teams in the country.
