(WOLO) — ESPN Chicago reported Monday night that former Gamecock WR Alshon Jeffery fractured his right hand making his second career touchdown catch against Jacksonville Sunday. The rookie has 14 catches in 5 games this season for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Jeffery broke a bone in his hand early in his final regular season game in college but remained in the game and later caught a touchdown against Clemson. Jeffery had surgery and went on to become the MVP of Capital One Bowl in his final collegiate game. The Bears drafted the Calhoun County native in the 2nd round, 45th overall. The ESPN Chicago report says Jeffery is expected to miss a couple of games but surgery will not be required.
