Army Dad Surprises Daughter at School

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A homecoming fit for a soldier and the daughter who never saw it coming takes place at a Northeast Columbia elementary school, and it’s all caught on camera. Today at Rice Creek Elementary School, fifth grader Danielle Banks got the shock of a lifetime. Her father, Army Major Danny Banks, surprised her during lunch. The career soldier and engineer had been away on an eight-month tour in Kuwait and Afghanistan. He says Danielle told him last month that she had a dream about him one day surprising her at school. Today, that dream came true.
