Ocean adventurer speaking at Clemson University

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — A man who has spent decades exploring the remote corners of the globe is sharing his story at Clemson University.

Ocean adventurer Jon Bowermaster is speaking Tuesday evening at the Strom Thurmond Institute as part of the Calhoun Lecture Series.

For the last 20 years, Bowermaster has used books, films and the Internet to bring people along as he explores the planet.

Bowermaster is a six-time grantee of the National Geographic Expeditions Council and award-winning writer and filmmaker. He recently wrapped up OCEANS 8, a project that took him and his teams around the world by sea kayak during the past decade.

The expeditions ranged from the Aleutian Islands to Vietnam, Chile, Gabon and Antarctica.
