COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Head Ball Coach is relying on his senior leadership to help the younger players get through what will be their first trip to one of the most hostile environments in the country — LSU’s Death Valley. “I think mainly your players are the guys that are going to make sure the team’s ready to play,” said Steve Spurrier. “As coaches, we do the same thing every week. We try to get ourselves as best prepared to play as we can, and hopefully the team will follow.” After LSU, the Gamecocks head to another difficult place to play at — Florida’s Swamp against the 4th-ranked Gators. The no. 3 Gamecocks and no. 9 Tigers are set to kick off Saturday in Baton Rouge at 8:00PM. The game will be televised on ESPN.
