COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The 7th ranked Gamecocks will visit the 2nd ranked Florida Gators in Gainesville this Saturday, October 20th at 3:30 p.m. and will be nationally televised on CBS. Here is a quick look at the week ahead and the match-up. South Carolina The Gamecocks are coming off a 23-12 lose to LSU, giving them a record of 6-1 (4-1 in the SEC). Connor Shaw threw for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 of 34 passing attempts. Marcus Lattimore had 35 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries; his eighth straight game with a touchdown. USC currently ranks 74th in Passing Yards and 72nd in Rushing Yards at 217.9 and 160.4 yards per game respectively; while ranking 36th in Points For at 34.1 points per game according to ESPN. Which also has the defense ranked at 5th nationally for Points Against at 12.3 points a game. Florida The Gators are coming off a 31-17 win at Vanderbilt, which gives them a 6-0 record (5-0 in the SEC) coming into the matchup. Last weekend against Vanderbilt, the Gators’ sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel was 11 of 20 for 77 yards passing but also added 177 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. The Gators added another 149 yards rushing with their premier back Mike Gillislee getting 67 yards on 17 carries. The Gators currently rank 118th in Passing Yards and 14th in Rushing Yards at 145 and 233.3 yards per game respectively; while ranking 65th in Points For at 27.8 points per game according to ESPN. Which also has the defense ranked at 6th nationally for Points Against at 12.3 points a game.
