Absentee Voting Vs. Early Voting in SC

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — South Carolina is one of nearly 20 states that prohibits early voting. Voting absentee, where you can cast a ballot prior to Election Day, is allowed. So what’s really the difference? We’ve got the facts to help you prepare for the polls. According to Richland County election officials, and estimated 10-15%percent of voters will cast their ballot absentee. Since South Carolina is not an officials early voting state, there has to be acceptable cause for you to vote prior to Election Day.
