Pedestrian struck while jaywalking in Columbia
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Police say a driver has been cited for driving too fast for conditions after striking and killing a pedestrian on a downtown Columbia street.
Authorities said 54-year-old Alton Floyd Jr. was hit around 7 a.m. Friday and died a short time later at the hospital.
Police say the driver had the green light as Floyd tried to cross.
