Wake Limps Into Clemson Game

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Wake Forest is figuring out how to do more with less. Two of the Demon Deacons’ top four receivers are hurt. They’ve played all year with a makeshift offensive line. They had eight players serve suspensions of varying length for off-field incidents. Yet heading into this week’s game with No. 14 Clemson, the Demon Deacons (4-3, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) have done just enough to win and keep themselves in contention for a second straight bowl berth. Receiver Brandon Terry said Tuesday that the healthy players have to take steps to keep themselves in good shape because “you know that your importance is increasing.” Wake Forest plays host to No. 14 Clemson (6-1, 3-1) on Thursday night.
