Shaw And The SEC QBs

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The eighth ranked (BCS) Gamecocks are on their off week this week. With them taking a break this week, let’s take a look at some of the team’s numbers and how they compare to the rest of the SEC. Today we look at the quarterbacks. Connor Shaw leads the Gamecocks in passing and had a career day with 356 yards and 3 TDs last Saturday against Tennessee. For the season Shaw is 106 for 160 passing attempts, 1338 yards, 12 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Carolina’s current record is 7-2, 5-2 in the SEC. Tyler Bray of Tennessee leads the SEC in passing yards with 2282 yards on 171 of 287 passing attempts. Bray has thrown 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Tennessee currently sits at 3-5, 0-5 in the SEC. Arkansas’s Tyler Wilson is just behind Bray in passing yards with 2254 yards on 148 of 248. Wilson has thrown 16 touchdowns with 7 picks. Arkansas has a record of 3-5, 2-3 in the SEC. The Razorbacks play Tulsa at home this weekend before coming to Columbia next weekend. Redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel has been phenomenal for the Aggies at Texas A&M throwing for 2216 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions on 173 of 269 passing attempts. Johnny Football has A&M at 6-2, 3-2 in the SEC, this season. Georgia now sits in a tie with Florida for first in the East with it 17-9 win over the Gators last weekend. Aaron Murray has thrown 17 touchdowns and 7 interceptions with 2064 yards on 142 of 223 attempts. The Bulldogs currently sit at 7-1, 5-1 in the SEC, this season. AJ McCarron has thrown the ball almost perfectly for the Tide not throwing an interception so far this season and 18 touchdowns. McCarron has thrown for 1684 yards on 122 of 177 passing attempts. Alabama Currently sits at number one in all polls with an 8-0 record (5-0 in the SEC). Alabama will face LSU this weekend, probably their biggest test so far this year. Tyler Russell leads Mississippi State in passing with 137 for 233 passing attempts, 1742 yards, 15 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Bulldogs’ current record is 7-1, 3-1 in the SEC. Bo Wallace leads Ole Miss in passing with 136 for 205 passing attempts, 1649 yards, 10 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. The Rebels’ current record is 5-3, 2-2 in the SEC. Jordan Rodgers leads Vanderbilt in passing with 106 for 180 passing attempts, 1458 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Commodores’ current record is 4-4, 2-3 in the SEC. Zach Mettenberger leads LSU in passing with 112 for 198 passing attempts, 1419 yards, 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. The Tigers’ current record is 7-1, 3-1 in the SEC. Jeff Driskel leads Florida in passing with 100 for 154 passing attempts, 1120 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. The Gators’ current record is 7-1, 6-1 in the SEC. Maxwell Smith leads Kentucky in passing with 103 for 150 passing attempts, 975 yards, 8 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. The Wildcats’ current record is 1-8, 0-6 in the SEC. Kiehl Frazier leads Auburn in passing with 62 for 114 passing attempts, 753 yards, 2 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. The Tigers’ current record is 1-7, 0-6 in the SEC. Missouri has two quarterbacks that each have over 100 passing attempts; James Franklin has 821 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 79 of 128 attempts. Corbin Berkstresser is 64 of 131 passing attempts with 698 yards, 3 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. The Tigers’ are currently 4-4, 1-4 in the SEC.
