USC’s Martin: “I’m Loyal”

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — South Carolina men’s basketball coach Frank Martin has firmly planted his roots into the Gamecocks men’s basketball program. “I’m loyal,” said Martin. “I’ve got this streak of loyalty about me that you probably won’t find around too many places in today’s day and age.” It’s been eight months since Martin left Kansas State to take the head coaching job at USC – a team that was probably NCAA tournament-bound. It was also Martin’s chance to coach at home. “I am loyal and I’m honest. Those guys [team] believing in us to come here, I go to bed every night, my worries is doing my job to the best of my abilities to give those guys a chance.” Martin and the Gamecocks officially start their 2012-2013 campaign Sunday against Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Tip off is set for 3:00PM at Colonial Life Arena.
