Group Plans to File Formal Protest over Elections

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Election Day may be over, but some voters are still holding a grudge. A campaign to send local residents back to the polls is gaining momentum. That’s according to Citizens for Fair Elections in Richland County. The group plans to file a formal protest Monday. “The law was violated before the election ever started. So it is a tainted election. The only way to solve this issue is to allow the thousands of people was are disenfranchised the right to vote,” says the group’s co-chairman Michael Letts. The State Elections Commission did certify all of South Carolina’s results last Monday. It came almost two weeks after people went to the polls.
