Lawing Says Clowney Has Increased Knowledge Of Football

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Defensive line coach Brad Lawing spoke with the media after yesterday’s practice as the Gamecocks get ready to face Michigan in the Outback bowl on January 1st. Lawing talked about Jadeveon Clowney winning awards and the year that he had. Lawing said that Clowney has improved his intellect of the game which has allowed the coach to do more with the star defensive end. ” He’s made tremendous strides from his freshman year to this year…” Lawing said, “His knowledge of the game has really increased which has allowed me to do more things with him.” Lawing was asked if he thinks he could coach a Heisman winner next year, he responded ” I’ve never coached one, it’d be fine by me.”
