COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Saturday, the Gamecocks will hold their final practice at the Proving Grounds on Bluff Road before they break for the holidays. After Christmas, USC will head to the Sunshine State for more Outback Bowl preparations. Against Michigan, the Gamecocks will have two proven guys under center – Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson. “It’s nice to have a couple of guys now that can go in there and can play,” said USC quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus. “You know that hadn’t been the case over the last few years necessarily where two guys have proven that they’re ready to go play and capable of helping us win football games. Now we do. Dylan had a good one, but both of them will play and Connor should be ready to go.” Kickoff between the Gamecocks and Wolverines for the Outback Bowl is set for 1pm Tuesday, January 1st.
