Gamecocks Add Top Running Back

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Gamecocks added a top ranked running back to their 2013 recruiting class on Friday. David Williams, from Philadelphia, is ranked 124th in ESPN’s top 150 and became the Gamecocks highest rated recruit with his commitment. The commitment of Williams is Head Football Coach Steve Spurrier’s third top 150 running back in the last four years (Marcus Latttimore in 2010 and Mike Davis in 2012). Williams had interest from all over the country including programs like Auburn, Tennessee, Notre Dame, West Virginia, and others before he narrowed the list down to Penn State, Arizona State, and South Carolina finally choosing Spurrier’s Gamecocks.
