Spartanburg Woman Seriously Injured in Dog Attack

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities say three dogs attacked a 44-year-old Spartanburg woman, who remains in the hospital with serious injuries. Police said the dogs were still biting the woman when they arrived on a residential street around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday. An officer yelled at the dogs, and shot and killed one of them when the animal charged at him. Investigators say the victim was unconscious with several bites to her arms, legs, face and chest. The other two dogs were captured by animal control. Police say the owner of the dogs had been cited for not having current rabies shots for the animals. The investigation into the attack continues.
