Deputies: Burglary Suspects Caught after Wrecking Car

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two people in connection to a burglary at Fairfield Electric Tuesday morning. While responding to the scene, deputies say they spotted a 2001 Pontiac fleeing the business around 3:30am. They add the suspects disregarded lights and sirens while deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle in question eventually lost control and wrecked near Blythewood Road and Wilson Boulevard. At that time, one of the suspects was taken into police custody. The other ran on foot. That individual was discovered a short time later after deputies say someone called about a suspicious person in the area. One of the suspects was identified as 18-year-old Dajon Marquis Whitaker. We’ll bring you more information as it becomes available.
