CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson University President Jim Barker is recovering from emergency heart surgery that was more extensive than projected. The university said Barker’s family reports the operation was needed to bypass five blockages. He underwent surgery Friday and is expected to be hospitalized for about a week, followed by medical leave for recovery.

(AP) — Boeing Co. says it will stop delivering new 787s to customers until its electrical system is fixed. Boeing says production is not stopping. The plane is assembled in North Charleston, S.C., and Everett, Wash. The Federal Aviation Administration has grounded the 787s until Boeing proves the batteries are safe.
