Irmo’s Johnson Takes To The Sky

(WOLO) — Dustin Johnson has been known to hit super-human drives on the golf course. Now the Irmo native can add the gift of flight to his list of superpowers. At a promotional event preceding this week’s PGA tournament at Torrey Pines, Johnson and fellow golfers Jason Day and Brandt Snedeker piloted remote control flying versions of themselves. The event was to promote Adidas’ new golf shoe which it bills as the lightest shoe on the market. Johnson says he is confident going into this week’s tournament. He won the tour’s first event of 2013, the 7th PGA Tour win of his career. The Dutch Fork High School alum and former Coastal Carolina standout is currently 14th in the World Golf Rankings.
