Suspect Sentenced in Dogfighting Bust

Columbia, SC (WOLO)– A man accused of cutting the ears off of puppies with a box cutter will spend a year in prison. Sheriff Leon Lott says James Green was sentenced to one year in prison for his involvement in a dogfighting ring that was broken up in Richland County in 2011. In September of 2011, deputies responded to a location on Campground Rd. where they say they found a dog fight in progress. Several people were arrested in connection with the bust.
