Martin Calls For Culture Change

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Lou Holtz said it had to be done when he took over the Carolina football program in 1999. Now, Frank Martin is calling for a culture change for Gamecock basketball. USC (13-14, 3-11 SEC) hosts Missouri (19-8, 8-6 SEC) at 9 p.m. on ESPN2 Thursday. At his preview press conference Wednesday, Martin, in his first season as basketball coach at South Carolina, admitted turning the Gamecocks into a postseason contender has turned out to be harder than he thought. “There’s a lot more things that need to be done than I thought when I got here,” Martin said. “And that’s okay. I didn’t come here to go on vacation.”
