Early morning fire leaves 16 people homeless

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — An apartment fire Saturday morning has left 16 people without a home. A Columbia Fire Department spokesperson says crews were called to the Hampton Park Apartments on Blossom Street at 4:30 a.m. Saturday. They reported heavy fire and smoke coming from Building F. No injuries were reported, but damages are estimated at $100,000. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the victims. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
