Autism scholar to visit USC on growth of autism
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Understanding the growth of autism is the focus of a sociology lecture to be delivered next month in Columbia.
Autism scholar Peter Bearman of Columbia University is delivering a talk in April at the University of South Carolina campus.
University spokeswoman Peggy Binette says the talk initially slated for Wednesday had to be rescheduled. No date has been chosen.
Bearman is speaking on social factors affected by autism.
Bearman is the Cole professor of social science at Columbia University. He was given the National Institutes of Health’s Director’s Pioneer Award in 2007.
