Former Norway Mayor Dies

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A former Midlands Mayor who found himself in the middle of controversy after pulling over a trooper last year, has died. According to the Organgeburg Times and Democrat, Former Norway Mayor Jim Preacher died Sunday night after suffering a heart attack. Preacher made headlines in January 2012. He was pulled over by a state trooper, ticketed for speeding, then allegedly pulled over the state trooper. The incident launched a SLED investigation. Preacher served as police chief and mayor of Norway along with police chief of nearby Ehrhardt.
