SC man arrested after body found by children
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Officials in Charleston County have arrested a suspect in the death of a man whose body was found in the woods by children playing hide-and-seek.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (http://bit.ly/17ju1yr ) Deputy Coroner Scott Ramsey identified the man as 67-year-old James Butler of Ravenel. An arrest report said Butler was found with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and several stab wounds in his back.
The sheriff’s office said 19-year-old Harold Lee Jones Jr. of Ravenel was arrested Friday night. He is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Jones was arraigned Saturday. He is being held at Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center without bond.
Butler’s body was found in a wooded area behind a vacant house with broken-out windows.
