Volunteers making Columbia home energy efficient

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Volunteers are gathering this week to make a Columbia home more energy efficient.

South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. says about 30 employees are spending time on Tuesday caulking, weather-stripping and doing other work at a Columbia home to make it more weather tight.

The effort has been organized by SCE&G, the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity and the Aiken/Barnwell County Community Action Agency.

It’s part of One Columbia: CityServe 2013 and National Volunteer Week.
