Columbia police raising funds for ballistic vests

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Columbia police are showing off barbecue, bikes and cars in the interest of raising money for the department.

Officers on Saturday are holding a barbecue cook-off at Carolina Ale House.

The daylong event also includes a car and bike show.

All proceeds from the event go toward buying ballistic vests for Columbia’s officers.
