Richland County Approves New Elections Director

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Richland County has found a new director to lead its Elections and Voter Registration Office. A search committee voted to approve Howard Jackson’s application for that position Wednesday evening. He’s now in a *probationary period*. Jackson will replace former director – Lillian McBride – who stepped down following a firestorm of criticism after last November’s so-called Election Day debacle. He is no stranger to the elections process, having worked at the Orangeburg County office. Jackson’s official starting date will be determined at a later time.
