Columbia reopening downtown pool for summer
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A public pool in downtown Columbia is reopening for the summer season.
The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is holding a grand reopening for Maxcy Gregg Pool on Saturday.
There are public tours of the facility, as well as a dedication ceremony and reception. At night, a family friendly event features a “dive-in theater” and showing of the movie “Shark Tales.”
The grand reopening comes after the completion of a yearlong project to put in a bigger pool and remodel the bathhouse with new showers, bathrooms and office space.
