SC baseball team offers free admission to military

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The Columbia Blowfish baseball team and the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce are honoring the military with free tickets to a weekend game.

Those with military identification cards get free access to Saturday’s game against the Thomasville, N.C., HiToms. Gates open to the public at 6 p.m. at the Capital City Stadium. Children who bring a ball and glove may play catch with players prior to the game.

After a military color guard flag presentation, the first pitch is set for 7 p.m. Fireworks follow the game.

There will also be a recognition ceremony for U.S. Army recruits who are taking their enlistment oath.

General admission is $6.
