Possible Tornado Displaces 40 People

FLORENCE, S.C. (WOLO) – Forty people in Florence County are without homes today after a severe storm, possibly a tornado, tore through the area Tuesday night. Officials say nine homes, in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park near Quinby, were destroyed and eight others damaged. The storm, that has not been confirmed a tornado by the National Weather Service, ripped through the area around 7:30 Tuesday evening. WPDE in Florence is reporting seven people were taken to the hospital and a six year old child freed from a home after being trapped. Officials say none of the injuries are life-threatening, mostly cuts and bruises. A Red Cross shelter has been set up at Wilson High School for those affected.
