York woman drowns in Saluda River

EASLEY, S.C. (AP) — A York County woman has drowned while tubing on the Saluda River near Easley.

Pickens County officials say 37-year-old Heather Dobbins of York was with three friends near the Saluda River Yacht Club near the Pickens-Greenville county line when she drowned Saturday afternoon.

Dobbins was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was planned Monday.
