Battle Of The Carolinas Two Days Away

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The battle for the Carolinas is just two days away and both team seem to be ready for the game. The game kicks off at 6 p.m. on Thursday on ESPN.
“We are excited to get ready for this first one. We’re less than a week away. Our guys are typically, at the end of camp, they’re tired of hitting each other. They’re ready to hit somebody else and really find out who the 2013 Tar Heels are,” Accourding to the Tar Heels Head Football coach Larry Fedora at Friday’s press conference.
The Gamecocks know they need to be ready to play.
At Sunday’s press conference Head Coach Steve Spurrier said “We’ve got to be ready to play, take care of the ball and do all those kind of things and give ourselves the best chance to beat North Carolina when they come in here next Thursday night.”
Jadaveon Clowney has been receiving a lot of hype all summer after “The Hit” in the Outback bowl to start off 2013 and to finish the 2012 season. He is going into the season as a Heisman candidate and the pressure is on North Carolina’s offensive tackle James Hurst.
With Fedora adding “I’m not looking forward to [the Clowney matchup]. I’m going to say the guy is a great player and the more you watch film on him – I’m long beyond the one play on Michigan. But that guy makes plays all year and throughout every game. He is a major factor.”
