Gamecock Weekend Recap

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 27-10 in the college football opener on Thursday night. 

Connor Shaw tallied up 192 total yards, 149 yards passing and 43 yards rushing. He complete 11 of 20 passes for 1 touchdown.  Dylan Thompson came in for one play and went one for one for a 29-yard touchdown. 

Mike Davis lead the team on the ground with 12 carries for 115 yards and 1 touchdown.  Brandon Wilds added 64 yards on the ground with 12 carries. 

Shaq Roland lead all receivers in yards with 75 yards on 2 receptions with 1 touchdown.  Nick Jones added 4 receptions for 21 yards and five other receivers added 82 yards on 6 receptions. 

The defense did a solid job holding an up-tempo UNC offense to jus 10 points and 293 total yards.
