SC volunteers work on dolls for deployed military

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) âone space€one space” Volunteers are gathering to build and decorate anti-stress “Dang-It Dolls” for military servicemen and women. Organizer Carol Davis says Saturday’s workshop is being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cayce Masonic Lodge on 12th Street in West Columbia. Volunteers are needed to stuff and decorate the dolls. Davis says she gave the tiny dolls their nickname after she made some for a family member and his deployed buddies. Since 2005, the nonprofit organization has shipped about 100,000 of the tiny dolls all over the world and to stateside military installations. Davis says Lodge members are preparing a hot dog lunch for the volunteers. Information is available at www.militarystressreliefdolls.com .
