US Sen. Rand Paul making another trip to SC

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is returning to South Carolina this week, making his second trip here in as many months. On Monday, the Kentucky Republican is holding a fundraiser for U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan in Anderson. The state is home to the South’s first presidential primary voting. In June, Paul met with tea party-leaning activists and headlined a fundraiser for the state Republican Party. The 50-year-old eye doctor hasn’t said for sure if he’ll seek the GOP nomination in 2016. But Paul has been keeping a high profile in early voting states including South Carolina, Iowa and New Hampshire.
