VIDEO:Spurrier On Clowney

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Steve Spurrier says Heisman Trophy hype was a little different back in his day. When he won the Heisman back in 1966, the Ball Coach says there was only one regular season college football game on television all season.
Jadeveon Clowney is facing a different type of animal. Clowney was widely criticized nationally after his season opener against North Carolina. The SEC defensive player of the year in 2012 had three tackles. Clowney’s conditioning and effort level were called into questioned after replays showed him clearly exhausted on and off the field.
After the UNC game Clowney said he had a stomach virus.
Steve Spurrier is expecting his junior defensive end that is projected to be the #1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft to fare better in Saturday’s game against #11 Georgia.
