2-hour standoff ends with domestic violence arrest
CASSATT, S.C. (AP) âone space€one space” Authorities say a 30-year-old man who shot at a mother and her infant daughter was arrested following a two-hour standoff with Kershaw County Sheriff’s deputies. Sheriff Jim Matthews said in a release Sunday that Henry Stover of Cassatt is charged with criminal domestic violence, resisting arrest and unlawful conduct toward a child. According to the release, the mother told deputies that she hid in a closet with her three-week-old baby after an argument with Stover became violent. She says she fled to a neighbor’s home after he shot through the closet door, missing them. Matthews says the resulting standoff Saturday night with Stover ended after deputies used a flash bang grenade and pepper spray grenade, then shot Stover twice with a 12-gauge, non-lethal “bean bag” round. No officer was injured.
