Deadly Dispute

LAMAR, S.C. (AP) _ Darlington County deputies say a long running dispute led to the shooting death of a 30-year-old man in a Lamar home.

Authorities said Jeffrey Dolford died in the house early Sunday morning.

Deputies say Dolford was arguing with 31-year-old Shayne Baxley when he was killed. Investigators say the men had a disagreement with each other for a long time.

Baxley was arrested and charged with murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. He remains in jail, and it wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
