Military mothers support other military families

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) âone space€one space” Sixteen military families in central South Carolina are going to have a brighter holiday thanks to a partnership between the Midlands Blue Star Mothers and Army Emergency Relief at Fort Jackson.
Blue Star Mothers spokeswoman Debee Early says the group of volunteer moms is providing Christmas gifts, ranging from skateboards to clothing, to more than 30 children from families in need stationed at the Army base.
Early says the adopted families are picking up their gifts Saturday morning at the American Legion Post #6 on Pickens Street in Columbia.
She says Blue Star Mothers will be on-hand to distribute gifts and meet the family members.
The Blue Star Mothers of America is a nonprofit service organization supporting each other and military families.
