COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Steve Spurrier says his team remembers getting clobbered by Florida last season and won’t be overlooking the 4-5 Gators this Saturday.
At his weekly press conference Tuesday, Spurrier said focusing on Florida and winning a school-record 16th-straight home game this week are his team’s main objectives, not worrying about a possible SEC East division championship.
The Gamecocks need both Missouri and Georgia to lose another SEC game to clinch a second trip to the SEC championship game in Atlanta. Spurrier said he and his team will have no interest in the Georgia-Auburn game that will likely be decided before USC kicks off against Florida at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
