Body found of SC man missing since Christmas 2011
LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say they’ve found the body of a Lexington County man who had been missing for two years.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said Monday that the body of Michael Jody George has been found in a wooded area near Gaston.
George was 22 years old when he was reported missing on Christmas Day 2011. Investigators say they received a tip earlier this month that George had been buried in the woods and recovered the body Dec. 16.
Authorities haven’t determined how George died.
Three people face charges in his death, including murder, kidnapping and accessory after the fact to murder. Deputies say two men kidnapped and killed George, and a woman helped clean up the crime scene.
