(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C, — SCE&G and Electric Cooperatives have been working around the clock to restore power to those who have been left in the dark. At the height of the storm SCE&G reported more than a 100 thousand people without electricity. By 10 Wednesday night that number had dropped to a little more than 76 thousand customers. While it appears crews are making a bit of head way, SCE&G spokesperson, Eric BoomHower reminds people that depending on the amount of wind, snow and ice that continues throughout the night and into the morning those numbers can and will change. BY 10pm Electric Cooperatives were reporting more than 120 thousand without power. While the immediate area appears to have missed the brunt of the ice storm, residents in places like Aiken county have seen some of the highest outages. Boomhower is asking residents to be patient as they work to get all power restored. Make sure they report all outages so crews can get to them faster, and make sure they make safety their first priority. If you lose power and have to use candles, and or generators use them carefully. To report outages you can call 1888-333-4465
