Benedict Falls to Claflin in OT

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Claflin‘s Brandon Curry hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left in regulation to tie the game and the Panthers went on to take an 80-76 overtime victory over the Benedict College Tigers in an SIAC men‘s basketball match-up on Thursday in Edward Tullis Arena. Benedict had a five-point lead, 65-60, with less than a minute left in regulation, before the Panthers scored the final five points to send the contest into overtime. In overtime, Claflin‘s Quinton Nance hit a pair of 3-pointers to open the extra period and the Tigers were never able to recover. Benedict dropped to 14-10 overall and 9-7 in the SIAC. Claflin improved to 10-17 overall and 7-10 in the SIAC. Nance led Claflin with 24 points. Lamar Adkins had a season-high 33 points and a season-high15 rebounds to lead the Tigers.
